Students in Spanish one, 1st period, decided to run their own matamoscas
activity
A student brought in 10 pesos to my 5th period class
A student drew a Joseph Kony poster & we laminated it in my 2nd period Spanish
2 class
Another student in the same class decided to create a song in Spanish and
practice it in support of Invisible Children
Another student (out of the blue) in my Spanish 2 6th period came up to me and
asked if she could SING A SELENA SONG TO THE CLASS (She's going to practice the
song and present when she's ready. Out of the blue. Seriously. I had nothing to
do with it. I can't hardly believe that one.
Students in 7th period were making me irritated because some of them had those
non-participatory attitudes. I told them "allí está la puerta" and they began
arguing with me about all the reasons why Spanish was important… in Spanish.
Lastly, we started comparing people's (mostly teachers) faces to animals - that
was sort of funny and inappropriate at the same time. The students decided that
even though it was funny, it was not a good idea. But now we know how to say
"tiene cara de…" and "parecer"…

Have a good weekend.
