Folks, We made a run up to McGuire Reservoir, west of Carlton today in search of certain species, and we struck it rich. At Mc Guire Reservoir we found: 1 COMMON LOON-a species we've found annually since 2009 1 Canada Goose on nest 2 Mallards 2 Hooded Mergansers 3 Buffleheads 1 Pintail 1 Pied-billed Grebe 4 Tree Swallows 1 Raven On the road around the west side of the reservoir we found: 4 GRAY JAYS 1 N. PYGMY OWL 1 Band-tailed Pigeon 2 Steller's Jays 6 Chestnut-backed Chickadees 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets 1 Hutton's Vireo 12 Robins The birds in all caps were new for us in the county this year.
