Help!
We have a new Yamhill county coordinator, Karen Hoyt, this year since
Carol Karlen is not doing it. I am attempting to help her by contacting
past and future participants, except I don't know who you are. Please
let me know if you want to bird in Yamhill county on the weekend of May
10/11. This is the most fun and simplest count of any. Just bird
wherever you like, keep numbers and your time and miles.
And please let me know if you prefer the 10th or the 11th. We will go
with whichever one gets the most votes. If it's a tie, we'll do it on
Saturday as that has been the traditional day for Yamhill county.
Saturday is also Polk County day so you could follow the Yamhill/Polk
Co. line and keep results for both counties. (Not that I'm trying to
sway your vote or anything...)
Karen and I would really like to up Yamhill County participation. There
is a new element this year in a "count week" concept. So if you see "a
good bird" on Friday that you don't see on count day, it can be included
in "count week" (3 days before and after count day).
