Several people have commented on the white goose found at Fireman's Pond in Redmond. It seems to have features of both Ross's and Snow Goose. I thought I would send it out to obolers to take a look. This is what I observed today: Small - Just a little larger than the Mallards around it and close to average Ross's
Bill seems a bit larger than most Ross's Base of the bill is dark like many Ross's only darker Head is not as rounded as most Ross's Some black lipstick on bill but just a lineDemarcation between bill and face feathers is pretty vertical instead of bowed like Snow Goose
Head is rusty colored like Snow Goose You can view photos at https://www.flickr.com/photos/124095129@N06/ -- It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble.
