There are a nesting birds on the west slopes of Hart Mountain, including up
DeGarmo Canyon. I haven't studied them too closely, but my impression is
that they are California Scrub-Jays.

OBOLERS,

There have been two sighting in the Alvord Desert area that appeared to be
distinctly Woodhouse's Jays. Several years ago Dave Marshall found a group
along  near the Wildhouse Ranch. About ten years ago I spotted an active
noisy group along near the intersection of the road to Micky Hot Springs.
My sightings were in decidedly full Woodhouse's plumage and their voices
were quite different from typical California Jays.
