They have been audible at my house on the forest fringe for a few days. Yesterday a Swainson's before first light, the Varieds fifteen minnutes later. I did feel the first VTH detection was four or five days ahead of average this September. A Western Tanager in the plum orchard at Kansas City (two miles sw of Banks) seems almost "late".
