My husband and I took a Sunday drive through the Brownsmead area yesterday afternoon. Along with all of the expected waterfowl species, we saw a few unusual (for us) birds. These included a SNOW GOOSE among a small flock of Greater White-Fronted Geese, a GREATER YELLOWLEGS feeding in a flooded field with some Mallards, and a YELLOW-SHAFTED NORTHERN FLICKER. That last was a life bird for both of us. :) These may not be great rarities, but it sure made the drive fun! April Lauman
