There is a reliable place to find Horned Larks, right here in Salem. Today there were at least four Horned Larks, and a flock of 30 or so American Pipits, along with Savanah Sparrows, Western Meadowlarks and American Kestrels. This is in the barren fields east of Kuebler, between Turner Road and Lancaster. There is parking in the undeveloped, blocked off industrial street just NE of Mill Creek, and easy walking on the sidewalks.
