Hi, Sunday morning (7/6) in Depoe Bay, Lisa Gallegos found a male Red-breasted Grosbeak at one of her feeders. This is the second Lincoln Co. report since mid-May. Michael & Sally Noack saw and photographed a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak at their feeder at Fox Creek, about 1 mile south of Seal Rocks on May 28. In Lincoln Co., we have been getting about 2-5 reports of Rose-breasteds in May-July each year in recent years. For Lincoln Co. records of them since 1992, see http://bit.ly/1jj5l2t or search for "Rose-breasted Grosbeak" in the search box at the top of http://yaquina.info/ybn/bird/bird.htm They appear to becoming more regular, but only 2 records this year suggests that they are still uncommon to rare. Their status may be changing but time will tell! Range Bayer, Newport, Oregon Lincoln Co.
