This report was made Thursday July 3. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at 503-233-3976. A bright male CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was photographed July 2 at Fort Stevens State Park. The fall movement of shore birds is now underway with good numbers of WESTERN SANDPIPERS reported. On June 30 two SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS were at Yaquina Bay. On July 2 a BAIRD¹S SANDPIPER was reported at the Kirtland Road Sewage Ponds near White City. A breeding plumaged PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was at the Duckflat Wetlands near Turner June 28. On June 28 a MOCKINGBIRD was on the North Spit of Coos Bay. The CATBIRD continues along the Marine Science Center nature trail on Yaquina Bay. On June 30 a LONG-TAILED DUCK was at Yaquina Bay. A BLACK SWIFT was reported June 27 at Oceanside. On June 30 a group of ten WHITE PELICANS flew over mid-town Portland. A BREWER¹S SPARROW was at the Sandy River Delta June 28. A male WILSON¹S PHALAROPE with three chicks was seen July 2 at the Jackson Bottoms Wetlands in Hillsboro. On June 30 RED-EYED VIREOS were seen and heard off Gopher Valley Road east of Sheridan. A CATBIRD was at N. Mountain Park in Ashland June 26. That¹s it for this week.
