Local birder told me he had seen at least a couple dozen V Swifts up at Mt
Angel Abbey the last few days so decided to see what was afoot.
We went to a function on "the hill" last night and checked the old post office
chimney before going home. Swifts were popping into the chimney at 8:45 when we
arrived.
We counted 62 by the time the group was in at 8:52. Nice number for mid-summer
roosting.
