For those who don't follow the national birding news, a Marsh Sandpiper has been seen southwest of Sacramento, CA for the last four days. It was still there today. This is the first spring record for non-Alaskan North America and I think the second or third for the ABA area south of Alaska. It won't stay there forever, and especially owing to the valley location, it is basically a one-day flight from the western interior valley birding sites of Oregon. So keep an eye on those yellowlegs flocks in the coming week. -- Alan Contreras acontrer56@xxxxxxxxx Eugene, Oregon
