Pretty cool!! Thanks, Tim, for sharing. This bird must have wintered further south -- maybe it's the one that was seen in S. California in the fall? I think there's a winter record from Baja California, too. A good reminder that rare stuff like that doesn't only occur in fall. On a similar note, New Mexico just got its first Northern Wheatear ( http://blog.aba.org/2014/04/abarare-northern-wheatear-new-mexico.html#respond). Like the Marsh Sandpiper, it probably wintered in this general part of the world, and is headed back north or just moving around a bit. A sighting like this might explain Eastern Oregon's June wheatear records. Lastly, on a more local note, yesterday Barn Swallows and Orange-crowned Warblers were all over the Corvallis area. Evening Grosbeaks are back, too. Happy spring, Adrian
