Dear Jack and others,

One of my wife's relatives e-mailed me and told me that she saw about 300 to
400 Turkey Vultures over Portland on Oct. 13. See her message as below.

Sincerely,

Tim Janzen

Hi, Tim: I saw the most marvelous sight today, a large number (300? 400?) of
turkey vultures flying in a leisurely fashion above NE 102nd, north to south,
at varying altitudes. They seem to be seasonal birds around here, so I assume
they were migrating. I had to stop the car just to watch them. Amazing! --Karen

Subject: [obol] Kettle of Turkey Vulture

Four or five weeks ago while I was on the phone talking to Bill Evans, I was
surprised to find a small kettle of Turkey Vulture swirling above my back yard
in West Linn, and just now there were 23 more gaining altitude from just above
eye level off my back deck. This batch seems really late to me . . .
