Between 9am and 10am today at the north end of the preserve, big pond on east side of trail, there were: 1 RED-NECKED PHALAROPE 1 LEAST SANDPIPER 4 KILLDEER. Opposite the SW corner of the big pond, on the west side of the trail, were 3 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and about 65 carp contemplating a not-too-rosy future as the ponds there continue to dry up. Further south along the main north/south trail, in an irrigation pond on the east side, were 3 more GREATER YELLOWLEGS. Pintail Pond had: 18 WESTERN 17 LEAST SANDPIPERS 4 KILLDEER 1 SPOTTED SANDPIPER. Though decreasing daily there is still lots of water in the NW corner of Pintail Pond and the big pond on the north end has lots of water and shoreline, but no pelicans were present today.
