Yesterday several of us visited Pintail Pond at 2pm and greeted the rain at the same time. Present were: 8 Pectoral Sandpiper 8 Wilson's Snipe (six in one scope view) 2 Greater Yellowlegs ~20 Western & Least Sandpiper roughly 60% Western 20 Killdeer ~100 Vaux's Swift ~100 Barn Swallow 1+ Tree Swallow 1 Belted Kingfisher Sarah Pinnock counted 34 Great Egrets heading towards an evening roost site in the direction of the landfill on 9/18 at ~7pm. Red-shouldered hawk was heard calling yesterday from vicinity of Pintail Pond and a Northern Harrier was sighted. A Green Heron flushed from the drainage the footbridge crosses on the way to Pintail Pond. Golden-crowned sparrows are here.
