Yesterday several of us visited Pintail Pond at 2pm and greeted the rain at the
same time.
Present were:
8 Pectoral Sandpiper
8 Wilson's Snipe (six in one scope view)
2 Greater Yellowlegs
~20 Western & Least Sandpiper roughly 60% Western
20 Killdeer

~100 Vaux's Swift
~100 Barn Swallow
1+ Tree Swallow
1 Belted Kingfisher

Sarah Pinnock counted 34 Great Egrets heading towards an evening roost site in
the direction of the landfill on 9/18 at ~7pm.
Red-shouldered hawk was heard calling yesterday from vicinity of Pintail Pond
and a Northern Harrier was sighted. A Green Heron flushed from the drainage
the footbridge crosses on the way to Pintail Pond. Golden-crowned sparrows are
here.
