Interesting to me to watch a young Black-headed Grosbeak happily eating from
one of our suet feeders.
It readily clings to the wires and feeds much like a woodpecker or any of the
other opportunistic suet eaters, Bewick's wren, Jays, Starlings, Song
sparrows(!) and so forth.
I understand that food is food and yet watch in wonder as so many species eat
where I would not have expected them to.
