Subject: Surf Scoter on the Sheldon NWR

NV birders,

I just got a call from Sheldon Refuge Manager Brian Day that there’s an
immature Surf Scoter in Catnip Reservoir.  It is feeding vigorously -
first record of a surf scoter on the Refuge!?  The Sheldon is in the far
NW corner of the state on the Oregon border in the middle of the
sagebrush ocean.
