[obol] Dead Birds ?

I've tried to read most of what has been posted. 
I was wondering,(this is the first time I've heard of such a large amount of 
dead birds) 
what happens to all the dead birds on the beach?
Does anyone pick them up or are they just left there for the other birds and 
animals to eat?
Also do they die from exhaustion from flying in storms?
