Columbia Estuary Report - 6/6/2014

Word on the street is that TUFTED PUFFINS have return to Haystack
Rock in Cannon Beach as of last week.

OSPREYS have returned to the nest at the Ridge Road Soccer Field and
at least one of the Warrenton nest platforms near the High School.
Neal Maine tells me he checked mid-week and did not see Ospreys, so
these are very fresh arrivals.

I heard multiple singing ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS at Ft Stevens and
at least one singing COMMON YELLOWTHROAT.

There were at least a dozen CLIFF SWALLOWS mixed in with the VIOLET-
GREEN and TREE SWALLOWS at Svensen Island yesterday.

Lots of SAVANNAH SPARROWS and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS at Brownsmead
yesterday and Wireless Rd this morning, showing all the signs of
spring migration.
