For those of you who have not birded Boiler Bay, it can have numbers like this
under certain conditions. Sometimes it is wind, other times no one really
knows why.
When I lived in Salem I went there more often. One time I had 29 Sabine’s
Gulls pass the point in an hour. Another time it was “jaeger day” as Phil had
today. And many more delights. It is an odd place.
