Try as I might, the photos I took of this morning's Clatsop Beach Gull
seem to pretty clearly show a Bonaparte's Gull molting from juvenile to
1st basic and any real darkness in the underwings was a trick of the
tricky fog-dense light. All of which vanishes with the appropriate
jiggering of the dials in photoshop....
