Hi All,This morning I went looking for Roy's Semipalmated Sandpiper at Ankeny -
Pintail marsh, as I need such on my Marion list. I did not find it, and
figured it may be cuz I did not wash the car prior to leaving. Washing the car
is monthly due to living on the end of a gravel road. Being married also
motivates me as well, for if the car gets too dusty my wife gets after me.
After lunch I will get out there and wash it, and hopefully a green heron will
fly over.
Otherwise, there were a few each of Western and Least Sandpipers, maybe a dozen
Greater Yellowlegs, one Lesser Yellowlegs, 2 Snipe, maybe 30 Long-billed
Dowitchers and 1 Short-billed. I planned to take the ferry across the
Willamette but it was closed, so went south on I-5 and stopped at the rest area
at the county border, and walked among the cottonwoods listening for Red-eyed
Vireos, but no such luck. So I went to Albany and back up to Luckiamute
Landing where I heard a red-eyed vireo, same location where I reported on
about 2 weeks ago.
