I had indicated earlier in the week that I would post pictures of the one
"odd" "Western" Scrub-Jay I saw near Adel last Saturday. Due to
incompatibilities between my new camera body and Lightroom, I haven't been
able to retrieve and crop the photos. However, I can say this - it is not a
pure Woodhouse's Scrub-Jay. It may be a hybrid. The features that make it
not a Woodhouse's are white undertail coverts and a light breast. What
doesn't fit for California Scrub-Jay are a gray back with no brown tones at
all, a restricted necklace and a bill with no hook. When I do get them
converted to JPEGs I will post them online.
