OAGITM members, Mark Decker, Director of Jackson County, asked me to post the following two questions for him to the OAGIMT listserv. Current email issues are preventing him from posting them directly himself. Please respond back with any answers directly to him at DeckerML@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------ Kevin Potter - (Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCDA) Information Technology Director Douglas County, Oregon 1036 SE Douglas, Rm 123 Roseburg, OR 97470 Phone: (541) 440-4330 Email: krpotter@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Dear colleagues, 1. How do you fund the development and maintenance of online services? For example, accessing public documents electronically, or applying for a license or permit online. Are your online services underwritten by the General Fund or a Department budget, or do you charge some sort of use fee to citizens who use that service? If there is a use fee, is it a subscription or pay-per-use, and do you accept payment online? 2. I'm researching technology solutions for our Surveyor, and wondering what other counties are using. I'd appreciate any answers you may have to any or all of these questions: Does your land survey department have a commercial or homegrown information system they use to run their overall operation? If so, what? Do your field survey crews employ mobile technology (e.g. GPS, GIS, CAD tablets, etc.) to create or edit survey data? Does your county offer online access to survey records? If so, how do you recover the cost of capturing and storing the documents electronically, and of providing public access to them? Thanks in advance for any info you can share. Best regards, Mark L.
