Hello Everyone,
We have been accumulating a growing library of multimedia files we are storing
in our on-premises file servers. This includes not only video recordings of
public meetings, but also private meetings, training, photos, drone footage,
Adobe projects, and more. Compounding this issue is photos and video take up
substantial room on file servers (and backups) but cannot be deduplicated and
are already compressed. More megapixels, events, and high resolution footage
are expected to be a growing storage challenge.
How are other agencies handling/storing/archiving multimedia? What are the
differences (technical or policy) in backup or retention for multimedia files
vs other business data?
Thanks,
Josh Seyer
