This position leads the Information Services Department and reports to the City Manager. Annual salary: $80,329-$101,732, which includes a mandatory 6% employee contribution to PERS, and accompanies a competitive benefit package. The successful candidate will provide strategic administration of all functions of the Information Services Department. This position manages the City's Information Services Department; plans, organizes and provides direction and leadership to the department; and provides technical and management expertise to staff and departments. Other major duties include advising the City Manager, City Council and staff on information services matters; preparation and monitoring of the department budget; oversight, monitoring, and participation in comprehensive evaluation and continuous improvement of the department's service delivery; and development, direction and coordination of the procedures, work standards and service and staffing levels for the department. Requirements: Previous organizational accomplishments must indicate a proven track record of delivering effective and efficient results while finding positive solutions and providing excellent customer service. These accomplishments must be accompanied by a leadership style that promotes teamwork and fosters a positive working environment while orchestrating continuous improvement. In addition to possessing a degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, the position requires five years of increasingly responsible experience in information services management in a medium-sized public or private organization which provided significant exposure to the field of information services. Experience should also include two years as a supervisor. The finalist must be in possession of a valid driver's license and have the ability to be insured. The person hired for this position must possess and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly develop trust and confidence within all levels of the organization; team-leadership, with the ability to inspire, empower and motivate staff; perceptiveness and collaborative with the ability to establish relationships and build bridges while still seeing the big picture; excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including effective listening skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable manner; competency and confidence to become a member of the City's management team with a demonstrated ability to make the organization a better place Highly desired additional experience includes: experience with GIS systems, including program development, advanced database set ups, and programming; and experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library, with a proven track record of aligning information technology to the needs of the business, and enabling an organization to deliver efficient services.
