We have heard similar things not only from other local partners who recently
received quotes that were 300% higher, but also from our CDW-G vendor, who has
been dealing with this challenge and receiving feedback from other government
customers. We were fortunate to have locked in a three-year renewal last August
at a rate lower than our previous renewal, so we're secured through 2026/2027
and have time to plan for a potential change if necessary.

Our VAR warned us of a 20%-60% increase this year. When the actual quote
arrived, it was closer to 400%.

Needless to say, we are looking at other options. I've been using VMware since
the days of GSX and am sad to see where this will likely end up.

I have been a VMware customer for most of my career (25+ years) and I am not at
all happy about with Broadcom and what they are doing.

My biggest concern is what is going to happen with Dell/EMC VxRail going
forward. I have yet to get a straight answer from Dell/EMC.

We are 95% virtual (domain controllers and backup servers being physical) and
it's mostly on VxRail/VSphere.

I hope there will be some opportunity for conversations about this at the
conference - please reach out if you would like to do that.

Hey all,
I'm curious to see if any of you have gone through a VMWare renewal in the past
few months.  We have had a few conversations with VARs and they are seeing
massive renewal rate increases.  They have had customers experience 5x annual
increases.

We are deeply concerned as we are highly invested in VMWare products.  We are
100% virtualized on servers and desktops.  Broadcom is supposedly selling off
the Horizon platform which is seriously concerning for us.

I have my own opinion on why Broadcom is hitting customers with massive rate
increases.

I'm curious to hear from this group on what you are seeing for renewal costs?
