I totally agree with you.
I went through "The Post" (Bristol) yesterday and it took me an age compared
to the selective reading I prefer by using an informative contents page. I
haven't got the time or inclination to go to every article heading and read
the first line to see if it interests me.

I realise there are bound to be teething troubles with a new system so
hopefully with the current feed-back these and other issues people have
highlighted will eventually be ironed out. Meanwhile though, it is very
frustrating.

Ian.

I've never read a newspaper by going through it from item to item. Has
anyone else actually tried doing that?

It may be worthwhile recalling that that while books, especially fiction,
are usually read from beginning to end, newspapers and magazines are
entirely different. Items are selected according to , say the time
available, the reader's current personal or professional interests and so
on. Hence the need for an informative contents section and an easy way of
navigating to and fro .

Huw.

Dear Donna

The email service will be reintroduced soon.

Guide works on the web. To use the NTNM service you need to use the full
browser rather than the text only browser.

When in the browser you can press function key 1 for help on how to use
the web function of Guide.

When you select the browser you will be taken to the address box type in
rnibnass.cloudapp.net/newspapers
On the log in page tab to username text box and type your username. Tab
to password text box and type your password. Press enter. You will be
taken to the categories page. There you can choose magazines, national
or regional newspapers. Press enter on the link you want.

If you go to the national newspapers page there are a number of
newspapers listed as links. Choose the one you want.

It is easier to read the html version of a newspaper. To read The
Guardian arrow down or tab to The Guardian link and press enter. On the
following page are various versions. Tab or arrow to The Guardian link
and press enter. On the next page tab or arrow to the guardian html
version and press enter.

This brings up the whole newspaper as a web page. You can arrow through
the newspaper or tab from link to link. An easy way to read the paper is
to use the h key to move from article to article. When you press the h
key each article name is read. If you like the article you can then use
the arrow keys to move through the article. Press h to move to the next
article.

At the top of the page is a back link. To exit the guide web browser
press the escape key and type exit then enter.

I hope this helps you. Please try it and ask for any more help on the
forum.
