NASA Langley Aerospace Research Student Scholars (LARSS) Program

The LARSS program is a partnership between NASA, the National Institute of
Aerospace (NIA), and the Virginia Space Grant Consortium as a sub-award to the
NIA.

The Langley Aerospace Research Student Scholars (LARSS) Program is a paid,
Center-unique, and highly competitive research internship program for
undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics (STEM) held onsite at NASA Langley Research
Center in Hampton, VA. Special project areas such as business, education,
photography, history, finance, accounting and other areas are also accepted for
consideration.

Recruitment is ongoing for the 10-week summer session with a deadline of
February 1, 2014. The 10 week period is 6/2 - 8/08/2014 .

The NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) is an "ecosystem" for innovation,
problem solving, and creativity. Since 1917, LaRC engineers and scientists have
undertaken award-winning research and development efforts to pioneer (1) the
future of flight (including entry, descent, and landing) in all atmospheres;
(2) the characterization of all atmospheres; (3) space exploration systems and
technology; and (4) materials concepts, analysis, and integration. LaRC
researchers are also engaged in innovative challenges including atomistic
materials; Earth systems science; affordable, safe, and sustainable space
exploration; and "green aviation".

For almost 28 years, the LARSS program has helped to preserve U.S. leadership
in engineering and science by providing exceptional students the opportunity to
work with Langley researchers on some of the Nation's most important,
difficult, and challenging problems that require multi-disciplinary and
collaborative solutions.

LARSS is a year-round research internship program with 3 sessions - fall and
spring (15 weeks) and summer (10 weeks).
