A service of the Northern Neck Audubon Society---
Raptors of the Rappahannock Will be the Topic of May Audubon Meeting

The May 4, 2015, meeting of the Northern Neck Audubon chapter will feature
"Raptors of the Rappahannock" presented by Charlene Talcott. Physiology and
mythology about our local owls, ospreys, bald eagles, hawks and more will be
explored. How raptors are classified, some of their unique adaptations, habits,
diets and chick-rearing will increase understanding of these majestic birds.
Talcott will also relate how some Native American, medieval, and ancient
civilizations viewed various raptors.

Talcott has worked at several environmental and historic sites, most recently
developing programs for Belle Isle State Park. She and her husband Andy share
their home in Lancaster County with eagles, ospreys, and various songbirds.

The meeting will be held at 7:00 PM at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main
Street, Kilmarnock, VA. This program is open to the public, free of charge and
refreshments will be served.
