************************************************************** Net Happenings - From Educational CyberPlayGround ************************************************************** Outlook Express has a vulnerability that allows Trojan horse programs to circumvent many e-mail attachment filtering programs. Using a specially crafted e-mail header that contains three file extensions, the attachment is ignored by filtering programs, looks like a safe attachment to users (like a .jpg picture file), and yet runs a Trojan horse program when opened. The exploit does not work on Outlook's full version, only Outlook Express. British e-mail provider MessageLabs issued the warning, stating that it had noticed an increase in this type of exploits. http://techupdate.zdnet.co.uk/story/0,,t507-s2130783,00.html ************************************************************************** Educational CyberPlayGround links to Technology <http://www.edu-cyberpg.com/Technology/Home_TECHNOLOGY.html> Find Information on Security for Teachers, Administrators, Ed.
