JOIN US FOR A LIVE CHAT ON 'A NATION AT RISK'

On Tuesday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m., EST, EDUCATION WEEK on the WEB will be
hosting a live online chat to mark the 20th anniversary of "A Nation at Risk,"
the National Commission on Excellence in Education's landmark indictment of 
U.S.
public schools. Moderated by EDUCATION WEEK senior editor Lynn Olson, the chat
will explore the impact of the report and the problems and successes of schools 

today. Our distinguished guests for the chat will be:

* Theodore Sizer, professor emeritus at Brown University, author of the
acclaimed book "Horace's Compromise," and hands-on authority on high school
reform;

* Milton Goldberg, a distinguished senior fellow at the Education Commission of 

the States who served as executive director of the National Commission on
Excellence in Education; and

* Michelle Fine, professor of social psychology at the Graduate Center of the
