Bob, I suggest one of the superzooms like Panasonic, Canon, or Nikon. They are wonderful cameras and are useful for odes, butterflies, and moths. I used a Panasonic 10x zoom before I got my current camera and it was pretty good for moths except for the smaller ones. $350 should be enough to purchase any of the superzooms. They are a little big to fit in a pocket but I wouldn't get anything smaller for what you want to use it for. Give me a call if you want more details.
