Doug,

I'd say you have 3 more 2281 – Dichomeris ligulella – Palmerworm Moths.

Subject: [ncsc-moths] Spartanburg County December and wings-up moths

Jean,
I think your help with the Wings Up Bent-line Carpet moth has helped.  About
half my unidentified wings-up pictures may be it.  Look at one of them on my
Picasa pictures.  What do you think?

Ken,
I've included 3 pics that might possibly be 2072– Chionodes discoocellella–
Eyeringed Chionodes Moth. I always passed it up because the head and palps are
unlike any of the photos including yours, but your image 9491  made me take
another look.

I have also included species 21, 22, and 23 for December. If my IDs are good,
Spartanburg County which had no moths recorded in December- now has the second
most of any SC county- my excuse of a hot toddy this cold, rainy evening which
probably marks the end of December leps.  I had 5 butterfly and 5 moth species
yesterday.

Ken, I'm also sharing your farm web page with two friends who have horses and
compete in dressage.
