Carolina moth'ers,

I continue to sort through the moths I photographed over the July 4th
weekend. I'm up to over 120 species now including some cool ones pictured
below.

1) Dark-banded Geometer (Ecliptopera atricolorata) #7214 Fairly common
around my place and one of the more striking Geometers
2) Gray Spruce Looper Moth (Caripeta divisata) #6863 Second record for my
Watauga County site; scarcity of evergreens in the immediate vicinity of my
house is probably the reason I don't see it more often
3) Dark-spotted Looper Moth (Diachrysia aereoides) #8896 This is
apparently rare in North Carolina and has a more northern distribution; I
was only able to find one record for it in NC--in the GSMNP
