Kyle,

I don't have a clue how to tell the 2 species apart. Chytonix palliatricula is 
variable and the few pics labeled as sensilis fit right into the mix of what 
I'd call palliatricula. I'm wondering how those ID's were made. IMHO, the first 
one you posted is too worn to be called anything but a Chytonix sp.

Thanks Harry! Would that be just this moth that you are referring to, or my 
other one? And any idea on how to tell the two Chytonix apart? I think that for 
C. sensilis, the dark curved line (forgetting the name now) from the side of 
the wing touches the reniform spot, whereas for C. palliatricula, the line 
doesn't touch the reniform spot; however, I can't find this anywhere. I know 
that C. palliatricula has that form with white patches.

Your moth looks to me like a good match for the southern dark form of C. 
palliatricula in the Peterson Guide.
