Indonesia to sell fuel pills
JAKARTA - Fuel-thrifty pills will soon be available on the Indonesian market to
cope with the rising fuel price and to support efforts to curb pollution
created by exhaust fumes, according to Icuk Sugiarto, who is responsible for
marketing the product.
Sugiarto told the media Monday that the fuel-thrifty tablets will economize on
the use of fuel by automobiles as well as motorcycles by 10-30%, reducing
residue in the fuel burning tube.
The tablets will take over the function of lead, increase octant, minimize the
emission of exhaust fumes and optimize fuel use, as well as clean the injector
and carburetor, according to Sugiarto.
The product has entered the market in various countries such as Britain,
Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Thailand, the Philippines and China, and been
given certificates from laboratories and independent organizations such as the
Productivity Standard Board of Singapore, Malaysian Automotive Organization,
EPA Certificate of the US Testing Laboratory, Queen University Laboratory in
Belfast, Britain.
Sugiarto expressed optimism that the fuel-thrifty tables produced by an
Australian company, Firepower, will be absorbed by the Indonesian market amid
the rising fuel price in the country.
The distributors for the marketing of the products in various areas in
Indonesia are currently being sought. The tablets consisting of three
categories, for 10 liters, 30 liters and 60 liters of gasoline will be sold for
Rp2,500 (US$0.26), Rp6,000 and Rp12,500 per tablet, respectively.
