Heh, interesting! :) I was thinking about tipping my toes into Ruby for quite some time, but never had a real good idea for what to start with. So I'd definitely be interested in looking into your script. Is it available online from somewhere? If you like, I could include it into a separate branch of the mylvmbackup SVN tree.
