[muglo] web cam

Interesting. It's been a long time since I tried to link up visually,
etc., but back then - couple of years or so ago - I was told you
couldn't do it even with AIM, which I had intended to try, I even
called the Mac help line people and was told no way. I had
downloaded Skype but forgot about the whole issue until a just
before Christmas when my youngest son called me from Mexico. He had
installed Skype and we soon had a link established. He walked around
the condo where he was staying with his laptop. I could check the
place out and watch the grandkids playing in the pool.. On Christmas
he called from Vancouver and we watched the grandkids unwrap our
presents. What a treat. But back two years ago I even bought a Zoom
QuickCam for $100 or so but never took it out of the box. Anyway,
thanks to Skype I can call both grandkids - the second one in Toronto
- whenever I want. It sure makes a difference to us even if it is a
little jerky at times and tends to freeze once in a while. It beats
the phone. jim
