[muglo] Panther (10.3.9) to Tiger (10.4)

As some of you may have heard, Firefox is no longer going to provide
updates for 10.3.9 after update 2.0.0.20. Firefox 3 will only work
with 10.4 and above. Questions:
1. Does anyone know of another reliable browser that will continue
issuing updates for 10.3.9? Safari is not an option as it stopped
issuing updates for 10.3.9 quite awhile ago.
2. If there is no other option, then I may have to eventually
update my iBook G3 (900 mhz, Combo DVD-ROM/CD-RW, 640 MB memory) to
Tiger (10.4). It appears from the system requirements that I can
install Tiger on my G3. Has anyone used Microsoft Office for Mac
2004 or AppleWorks 6 with Tiger? Do they work well?
