No Gerhard, I ignored my first troubleshooting rule: 'Don't overlook the obvious'. Frank's post twigged me into verifying a silly question - am I connected to the same network? As it turned out, a connection to a voip router for my phone provided an internet connection but a separate network. When I re-connected to my main router and joined my household network, everything returned to normal and I can see all the other computers. As it is, I have multiple networks now that my wife teaches online via a server in Nova Scotia as well as my internet phone setup.
