AFAIK most ROM SIMM slots in most models of Mac are unused by Apple. Very occasionally did Apple actually use it but for the most part they're just useless. Some 3rd party hardware manufacturers have made cache cards and accelerator cards that fit in _some_ ROM slots. I don't know if they fit in there simply to get power or if they actually use the connections to the mother board too. Eric.
