If you are referring to the red X that disconnects the drive try the
following.

net config server /autodisconnect:-1

There is also a setting under the network card properties power management
that says something like "allow windows to turn off this device" that you'll
want to uncheck.

Does anyone know how to turn off the way that Windows XP Pro keeps
disconnecting my network drives.  I hate having to synchronize every
