See this link for a standard answer to this problem. Although many have
found that simply running Detect and Repair (from Help menu) fixes the
problem. So you'll want to give that a try first.

Subject: [mso] very frustrated here outlook will not use word as
editor/access will not work/word does not work

I posted this question to another group but was unable to get an answer
before i took matters into my own hands.

i completely(via the add/remove)uninstalled Office2003.
then I reinstalled from the Disc and downloaded the appropriate updates etc
etc.

When i go to make a new message I still get the following error:

1. word was set to be your email editor, however it is not on this machine,
or is not the same version as outlook.

2. when i open a word document i am told that the document is not registered
etc etc....
3. when i try to open access i get an error that says access cannot find the
ole something or other. naturally it won;t let me x out of it and i have to
end the process using task manager.

All I ask is that my $500 program actually work.
Are there services and settings outside of Office that must be enabled?

I sort of thought that if i completely unibnstalled the app, my old settings
would not come back. But they did. Theycould be good or bad, depending I
guess. I like that i don;t have to recreate my calendars, or my contacts, or
my journals, but i don;t like that i am stilll having trouble with making
word my editor. It worked yesteerday. It worked this morning. It didn;t work
the second time today that i tried to send a message. It is not
working...now....helppp....
