I really try not to draw too much attention to this stuff. See, I figure
folks can stand a wiseguy or they can handle someone whose name has made
it into a magazine or two. I'm not sure they care for it being the same
guy for both of those things, though.<g>

Anyway, it seems like a natural to use Word for administration because
someone always wants you to tell them what you've been doing to earn
your pay as a geek...except they want it presented in a way that's easy
to read and understand...and then they don't want too much of it at
that. And, since writing, to me, is like preparing to drop your pants in
public and hope no one giggles, it just seemed like a reasonable thing
to do if I got Word to go out, get that information and format it
without me having to do much more than spell-check the results. Were I
only managing 2 or 3 servers, I wouldn't have bothered with making Word
do these jobs. Since I've got more than 4000 to manage, there was no
choice.

Okay, that's enough chatter on that topic. But just remember; Office
apps (all of them) can be effective system management tools, too. That's
geeky cool stuff!
