If it's a password set on open, Use the password to open the document. Then go to file>save as and click on the tools button on the upper right of the Save As box, and remove the protection there, and save it. Now it's no longer password protected If it's a password set WITHIN Word, go to the Tools menu and choose Unprotect Document.
