My guess as to the reason why it imported so many 'duplicates', is that they
aren't strictly duplicates.
It only takes one character to be different for Outlook to see them as
different.

If that's the case, I don't know of any other way other than manual weeding
out... :-(

Regards

Subject: [mso] double entries

I have many double addresses in my Office address book.i.e. the same address
appears twice. I tried "to be clever" and exported the whole contact list as
a "csv" file, deleting the original contact list and then re-importing the
list with the "do not import duplicate" button filled in. This imported the
address book back exactly the same way I exported it. Two questions:
Why didn't it prevent the duplicate addresses from being re-imported?
How DO I get rid of the MANY duplicate addresses I have in my contact list
without having to do it manually?
TIA
Errol
