Sometimes when it freezes and gets a three-finger salute, it doesn't
always recover. Particularly on 2000...2002 is better.

BTW...if your screen is freezing, there's a good chance that your video
driver needs to be updated. Try going to ControlPanel/System and check
the Performance dialog. There you'll find a button for Graphics (on 9x)
systems. Click it and click the Slide down two clicks for Hardware
Accelerator. That helps reduce some of the pull on the video and usually
helps.

The other reason it can freeze, if it's not the video, is that an addin
is causing a problem on opening or closing. But if you weren't
opening/closing when it errored out...then shoot for the video test.

Subject: [mso] auto recover

I am working on a document and my screen freezes up I hit
control/alt/delete
and the computer restarts - but Word did not do an autorecover - (it had
done
it before) - do I have to have default settings in order for Word to
recover
lost or unsaved documents?

Thank you,
Beth
