Most Excel addins have an xla extension (in all versions of Excel that I know of). Just put the xla file somewhere on your hard drive ... Then open Excel and go to the Tools menu and choose Add-ins .... Then click the Browse button to find the xla file and install it that way. Sorry ... I can't answer your other question about the flakey cursor in Excel ... I've never seen that one. Linda F. Excel 2000 compatiable ? I was given an XLA Excel addin. Supposedly, it helps the user locate certain names, like Find Doe, John J* to locate every who name is John Doe and has a middle name that starts with a J. I have not seen it. That "XLA" bothers me. Isn't that an older extension of Excel, and therefore will not work with Excel 2000? If you guys say it is safe (well, safe as can be, the anti virus program claims no virus), to install in Excel, I will take a look at it. Thanks.
